Spring is blooming at Saatchi Gallery as it unveils Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture, a captivating new exhibition supported by Cazenove Capital and Buccellati. This immersive experience showcases over 500 artworks and invites visitors to explore flowers through art, culture, and innovation.

Rebecca Louise Law: The Art of Preservation in La Fleur Morte

Step into a field of over 100,000 dried flowers with Rebecca Louise Law’s immersive installation, La Fleur Morte. Spanning 2,000 sq ft, this breathtaking display combines art with sustainability.

Law, known for her floral sculptures, has crafted this piece with flowers collected since 2003. By using preserved blooms and floral dust, she explores themes of life, death, and humanity’s relationship with nature. Visitors can walk among the suspended blooms, pausing for moments of introspection.

Through community workshops, participants contributed to the artwork’s creation, making the piece a testament to shared human experiences.

Miguel Chevalier: Virtual Gardens Redefine Nature

In stark contrast, Miguel Chevalier introduces visitors to a digital garden with Extra Natural, his generative virtual reality installation. This interactive experience spans 70 square meters, featuring vibrant digital plants that grow, transform, and respond to movement.

Chevalier’s futuristic approach bridges the gap between technology and nature. Visitors become part of the artwork as flowers react to their presence. The piece invites reflection on artificial environments and the future of genetic manipulation.

A Celebration of Floral Inspiration Through the Ages

The exhibition spans two floors and nine gallery spaces, presenting works by renowned artists such as Damien Hirst and Georgia O’Keeffe. With over 500 pieces on display, the exhibition showcases flowers as a timeless muse.

Visitors can also enjoy Saatchi Gallery Lates, with events like drawing classes and creative workshops. These activities offer a deeper connection to the exhibition’s themes.

Why Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture Is a Must-See

Saatchi Gallery has redefined how we experience flowers in art. Whether it’s Rebecca Louise Law’s poignant reflections on sustainability or Miguel Chevalier’s technological marvels, this exhibition offers something unique for every visitor.
