Hakkasan Celebrates the Year of the Snake: A Luxurious Chinese New Year Experience

Elegant Chinese dishes, cocktails, and desserts symbolizing prosperity as Hakkasan Celebrates the Year of the Snake in London.

London’s iconic Hakkasan is pulling out all the stops to welcome the Year of the Snake, blending fine Cantonese dining with vibrant traditions. From 14th January to 12th February, guests can immerse themselves in a celebration that pairs wisdom and elegance with culinary artistry. With a limited-edition menu, striking cocktails, lion dances, and opulent décor, Hakkasan offers an unforgettable way to ring in Chinese New Year.

A Menu Inspired by the Year of the Snake

Hakkasan’s limited-edition menu celebrates the elegance and charm associated with the Year of the Snake. Every dish has been carefully designed to reflect the themes of prosperity, renewal, and harmony. For £98 per person (including a welcome cocktail), diners can enjoy this exclusive menu, available for parties of two or more.

Signature dishes include the Golden “Yuan Bao,” a baked dim sum featuring king crab, caviar, and riceberry rice crisp shaped like traditional Chinese ingots to symbolize wealth. The Snake Fruit, Persimmon, and Avocado Salad is a vibrant combination of muscat grapes, barley, and kumquat dressing, representing renewal and harmony. Guests can also indulge in Plum Braised Beef Short Ribs, tender beef glazed with pineapple plum and garnished with dried pineapple, symbolizing fortune and harmony. The Lucky Red Envelope dessert brings the meal to a delightful close with mango curry mousse, cashew peanut praline, and mango passionfruit sorbet, inspired by the tradition of gifting red envelopes.

Raise a Glass to the Year of the Snake

Hakkasan’s bespoke cocktails, created in partnership with Hennessy, elevate the festive celebrations with bold flavors and luxurious touches. The Xiǎo Lóng, The Snake cocktail combines Hennessy VSOP with Campari, Sichuan pepper, strawberry, coconut, and pomegranate, offering a unique and tantalizing taste. For those seeking even more sophistication, the X.O Old Fashioned blends Hennessy X.O with kumquat saccharum and Peychaud Bitters, served with a gold snake encased in an ice cube for an unforgettable presentation. Both options capture the spirit of the Year of the Snake with elegance and creativity.

A Feast for the Senses: Lion Dances and Opulent Décor

No Chinese New Year celebration would be complete without the vibrant energy of lion dances. Hakkasan will host traditional performances at two locations: Hakkasan Mayfair on Thursday 30th January at 7 PM and Hakkasan Hanway Place on Tuesday 28th January at 7 PM.

To enhance the festive atmosphere, Hakkasan’s interiors will feature bespoke metal Wishing Trees adorned with snake-inspired lanterns, creating a magical ambiance. Guests are invited to write their wishes and hang them on the trees, embracing this cherished Chinese New Year tradition while surrounded by the restaurant’s luxurious setting.
