Families are invited to welcome the arrival of summer in Wembley Park on Sunday 9th June 2024. From 11 am to 3 pm, London’s most exciting new neighbourhood will be awash with music, games, laughter and a whole host of creative activities. The free ‘Hello Summer!’ event is taking place in partnership with Busk in London and Annie’s Kids Club and will feature an array of activities tailored to all ages.

Children will be able to take part in a wide variety of summer craft activities and workshops including pavement chalk drawing, playground games such as hopscotch, multicoloured scratch art and stencilling, abstract bubble art with paint and pens, decorate your own tote bag to take home and flower paper plate creation.

Set against the backdrop of the vibrant Wembley Park Farmers’ Market taking place in Market Square, a variety of crafting activities will be on offer throughout the day. Parents can pick up a selection of epicurean delights while youngsters tease out their inner Picasso. Market Square will also be hosting face painting from 11 am to 3 pm and balloon modelling from 11 am to 1 pm.

For youngsters (and grownups!) who like to sing and dance, the stunning Sound Shell in Samovar Space will be home to a series of lively events. From 11-11.45 am, audiences will have the chance to sing along to their favourite Disney classics with Musical Theatre performer, busker & artist, Jasmine Earl, while an interactive dance workshop with East London Dance from 12-12.45 pm will provide the chance to learn some new moves. The Sound Shell will then host a hula workshop by international hula hoop performer Angie Mack from 1-1.45 pm before East London Dance return for another dance workshop from 2-2.45 pm. The event will culminate with a freestyle dance party at 2.45 pm, providing everyone with a chance to show off their moves and dance their heart out.

The summer fun continues over on Olympic Way, with a selection of classic and new street games taking place between 11 am and 12 pm. Further games will take place from 1-3 pm, with plenty of chances to play and win as part of the family-friendly fun.

To top the day off and snap a few photos to cherish, there will be a floral bench selfie spot available throughout the ‘Hello Summer!’ event. Little ones should look out for costumed characters ready for some fun photo ops.

“Summer is a wonderful time to explore and enjoy Wembley Park. We are delighted to be welcoming the season on 9th June by providing a whole heap of free family-friendly activities. Why not make a day of it and pick up some treats for a picnic in Union Park at the Farmers’ Market, or enjoy one of Wembley Park’s dozens of cafes, restaurants and coffee shops while you’re here? There’s so much to experience in Wembley Park, no matter your age!”
