Shepherd Market Association is delighted to announce their 7th annual Christmas light switch on, Thursday 6th December 2018, from 5:30PM.
British actress and author Dame Joan Collins will be performing the light ceremony to kick off the star-studded festive evening.
Renowned British actress, author and columnist, the ever so glamorous, Dame Joan Collins will be taking the market’s stage at 6:30PM to switch on Shepherd Market Christmas lights, getting everyone into the spirit of Christmas.

The cobbled streets, independent shops, restaurants, pubs and businesses will set the festive tone for the evening. Private members club, 5 Hertford Street will be tempting us with festive sweets – mince pies & mulled wine. The delightfully rustic and elegant Le Boudin Blanc will host a show stopper of a stall with fresh Parisian food in the heart of Mayfair. Kitty Fishers’ will be providing plenty helpings of their famous pulled pork buns for the evening alongside hot apple cider.
This year Shepherd Street will take you back to the market feel with market stalls from the local business; The quintessentially British five-star The Chesterfield Hotel will be showcasing treats from their kitchen. Whilst Shepherd Market Wine House will be providing an overflowing selection of wine in both their wine house & market stall. Throughout the evening we will also have the pleasure of the Chelsea Pensioners, hosting a market stall selling Christmas cards and a selection of their festive gifts such as tree decorations and candles.

A terrific trio, The Spinettes will grace the stage throughout the evening with hits from the 1940s, classic Christmas tunes and present-day crowd pleasers. Previous famous faces have hosted this prestigious ceremony, such as John Cleese last year, Elizabeth Hurley, Michael Palin, Boris Johnson, Jeremy Clarkson and Sir Jackie Stewart.Running Order for the evening
5:30pm: One of London’s local choirs, New London Singers will warm your cockles singing classic and modern Christmas carols.
5:45pm: The Spinettes trio will bring vintage style and tonnes of talent to the market stage.
6:30pm: Dame Joan Collins DBE turns the Christmas lights on!
6:45pm: The splendid Spinettes continue with the glamour and festive fun with further songs.
7:15pm: An acoustic duo from Hatchetts Mayfair will take place on the main stage, throughout the evening
8:30pm: Time to return home with a warm glow after a fun and festive shopping under the lights of Shepherd Market.
