Best places to celebrate International Women’s Day in London

Luxury hotel, L’Oscar, is celebrating International Women’s Day in collaboration with Young Women’s Trust. Executive Chef Tony Fleming serves innovative British dishes in both Café L’Oscar and The Baptist Grill and in honour of International Women’s Day, two of his signature dishes will see proceeds donated to Young Women’s Trust. Until Sunday 10th March, £2 from every Blackcurrant souffle with liquorice ice cream at The Baptist Grill and £2 from everyPoached rhubarb and blood orange, Greek yoghurt and candied macadamia for breakfast at Café L’Oscar will be donated to the deserving charity. Young Women’s Trust supports and represents women aged 16-30 struggling to live on low or no pay in England and Wales, and who are at the risk of being trapped in poverty. L’Oscar is delighted to be supporting such a vital cause during the week of International Women’s Day whilst calling for a gender balanced world under this year’s campaign of #BalanceforBetter.

Blanchette

Blanchette’s founders, The Alary brothers, named the restaurants after their mother, Blanche. They’ll be celebrating International Women’s Day on the 8th March by putting a favourite dish of hers on the menu – an indulgent Pain Perdumade from buttery croissants, dipped in a vanilla and Grand Marnier custard before being pan fried and served with sultanas and vanilla ice cream.  For those looking to raise a glass to the women in their lives, they’ll also have a suitably pink special Flamingo cocktail, a delicious mix of vodka, prosecco and strawberry. Available at Brick Lane and Soho, £1 from every Pain Perdu and cocktail sold will go to Women’s Aid.

Sanderson

Sanderson hotel is celebrating some of the best female talent this International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March, with a stellar line up of DJs, cocktails and desserts, all on offer to help raise funds for charity partner Womankind Worldwide. Womankind works in solidarity with women’s movements around the world to bring about lasting change in women’s lives. Sanderson is supporting the cause with a female empowerment party headlined by BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Jamz Supernova and a bespoke cocktail, Cherry Sour (£14), created by Sanderson’s female mixologists. Sanderson has also partnered with Instagrammer and dessert aficionado Felicity Spector to create the Ruby Rose dessert (£8), of which all proceeds will be going to Womankind. Great Northern Hotel

In honour of International Women’s Day this March, Great Northern Hotel is celebrating with Women’s Month, highlighting women’s achievements and calling for a more gender-balanced world, throughout the hotel. In partnership with Womankind Worldwide, the hotel is celebrating women in their destination restaurant Plum + Spilt Milk, donating £1 from each signature Plum + Spilt Milk dessert to the charity partner. The recently launched Anthracite will also see £1 from each bespoke Womankind cocktail donated to the charity, whilst florist Early Hours London is creating a spectacular floral arch at the entrance to bring spring tones to King’s Cross. Ending Women’s Month on a high, Plum + Spilt Milk will be serving a Mother’s Day Sunday Roast Menu on Sunday 31st March. An artist will also be on site to discreetly sketch the guests and mothers enjoying their meals, providing a unique memento for them to take home, all included in the £40 price.

Hai Cenato

Jason Atherton’s Hai Cenato have announced next month’s new guest chef pizza as part of their monthly series, withMonica Galetti of Mere, Fitzrovia. The sourdough pizza designed by the MasterChef judge will feature San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, roasted aubergines, anchovies and finished with a sprinkling of oregano. The pizza, available throughout March has been curated in celebration of International Women’s Day (8th March) and will be priced at £17 with £1.00 of every pizza sold going to the charity, Hospitality Action. Monica Galetti follows a string of brilliant collaborations with the likes of Massimo Bottura, Clare Smyth and Paul Ainsworth.

Floral by LIMA and LIMA Fitzrovia

To celebrate all wonderful women, LIMA Fitzrovia and Floral by LIMA are offering a complimentary Pisco Sour cocktail on International Women’s Day for all ladies that dine with them on the 8th March.  Available throughout the entire day, the classic Peruvian cocktail is a great way to treat a special lady you admire.
