Where We Meet: An Immersive Dance Performance That Blends Technology and Storytelling

Credit: Where We Meet Dance Theatre

London’s theatre and dance scene is about to witness something revolutionary. Where We Meet, a first-of-its-kind immersive dance performance, will take over The Cockpit from 28th February to 2nd March 2025. Featuring wearable technology, motion capture, and spatial audio, this production by Unwired Dance Theatre transforms audience members into active participants in the story.

Dance That Reacts to the Audience

Where We Meet invites audiences to step inside the thoughts of its characters using custom-designed headsets. Spectators influence the narrative, movement, and soundscape as they interact with the dancers.

The show introduces three distinct characters:

Becki, navigating the search for real connection.

Adam, reconsidering his obsession with success.

Faith, learning self-acceptance.

Each story was shaped by real conversations and developed into a unique movement vocabulary. Choreography shifts in real-time as dancers respond to the audience’s presence.

Two Ways to Experience the Performance

Where We Meet offers two ticket types to cater to different engagement levels:

The Immersive Explorer: Move freely, wear a headset, and engage with the performers for a fully interactive experience.

The Compassionate Observer: Remain seated, using headphones and a tablet to connect with the characters virtually.

This dual engagement model ensures every audience member can enjoy the performance at their own pace.

Merging Dance with Cutting-Edge Technology

This production seamlessly blends contemporary dance, XR technology, and motion capture, creating an experience that blurs the lines between digital and physical interaction. Unlike traditional performances, Where We Meet allows audience members to alter the experience based on their presence.

Technology doesn’t replace human connection here—it enhances it. This is the future of immersive performance.

The Creative Vision Behind Where We Meet

Unwired Dance Theatre, led by Artistic Director Clemence Debaig, is at the forefront of technology-driven performance art. Working alongside Co-Director and Wellbeing Coach Livia Massarelli, the team has crafted a production that goes beyond movement—it fosters deep emotional connections.

Adding further dimension, hip-hop dancer Ryan Naiken brings a unique dynamic to the choreography, merging contemporary and street dance styles.

For fans of immersive theatre, contemporary dance, and cutting-edge technology, this is one of 2025’s must-see performances. Every show is unique, adapting in real-time to audience interactions.

Tickets are available now, with limited seating. Book early to experience this groundbreaking dance performance at The Cockpit, London.
