London’s best destinations for pre-theatre dinner

Margot

Margot is situated in the heart of Covent Garden, surrounded by theatres at easy walking distance. The restaurant is a true celebration of seamless service, refined interiors and the authentic food of Italy, all offered alongside an extensive international wine list. The pre and post theatre menu is available from Monday to Saturday from 17.30- 18.30 and 21.30- 23.00.

Radici

Radici offers a pre and post theatre menu available Monday to Saturday 5pm – 7pm and 9.30pm – 10.30pm. Guests can choose from 2 or 3 courses of homely, hearty favourites including Fried sardines, papa al pomodoro, ink mayo; Tagliolini cacio e pepe; and Francesco Mazzei’s infamous Marsala tiramisu. Just a short walk from the Almeida, the welcoming and informal interiors at Radici ensure a relaxing start or finish to an evening spent at the theatre.

The Goring

Hamilton, the critically-acclaimed and award-winning musical has been taking the West End by storm since its arrival in London. To complement a first-class performance The Goring are offering a first-class dining experience before spectators take their seats. In the luxury setting of The Dining Room, guests can enjoy a quintessentially British Afternoon Tea or a Michelin-starred meal. The pre-theatre menu includes many of The Goring’s classic dishes including Rose Veal Tartare, smoked anchovy, crispy potatoes, seaweed salt and Glazed lobster omelette, duck fat chips and lobster Caesar salad.


M Victoria

Ideally positioned on Victoria St, M Restaurant is only minutes from the Apollo Victoria Theatre, Victoria Palace Theatre, The Other Palace and the Curzon Victoria. The Theatre Menu has been specifically designed around guests to ensure their evening runs as smoothly as possible. Diners can choose from two courses pre-show (served with speed in the multi-award winning Grill restaurant) and then make their way back to the restaurant after the show to enjoy dessert and a glass of fizz — the perfect way to wind down! The menu which is priced at £32 for 3 courses and a glass of Prosecco includes M’s renowned Ribeye steak or for something lighter the pit roast sea bream served with salsa rosso.

The Baptist Grill at L’Oscar

Situated in the heart of Holborn in a treasured heritage listed building, L’Oscar hotel is a luxury hotel inspired by both Oscar Wilde and the glamorous Oscar ceremonies. It is therefore the ideal place to enjoy a meal prior to a trip to the theatre. Executive Chef Tony Fleming serves up an indulgent menu, filled with British classics with a contemporary twist. The pre-theatre menu is served from 5.30pm-6.30pm and includes the likes of Duck and shitake ravioli, creamed cabbage, smoked red wine and Chestnut and cep pithivier, roast swede, mushroom bouillon. The menu is priced at two courses for £35 and three courses for £45.

Floral by LIMA

Located within the heart of Covent Garden, this Peruvian hotspot is the perfect choice for those looking for a colourful way to start their evening. With playful and creative fish, meat and plant-based dishes there’s something to suit everyone in your party. The pre-theatre menu includes vibrant Peruvian classics such asSea bream ceviche, Ginger tiger’s milk, cassava and Andean corn alongside contemporary dishes such asWarm Asparagus Salad charred potatoes, giant corn and chalaca. Guests can even round off this Peruvian feast with an array of desserts including Rice Pudding with tree tomato ice cream and Passionfruit Panna Cotta with Mango Gel.

Thomas’s Café at Burberry

Start off an evening at the theatre in the most stylish way possible at Thomas’s Café at Burberry.  Located within the Burberry flagship store at 121 Regent Street, the chic eatery is only a stone’s throw away from London’s most famous theatres.  Oysters, lobster and a wide array of seasonal offerings take centre stage before closing the show with puddings such as Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart and traditional Apple Crumble.

Social Eating House, Soho

Where better to begin your glamorous night in the West End than Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred Social Eating House? Just a short stroll from some of London’s top theatres, Social Eating House is the ideal place to enjoy a pre-show dinner. As part of the pre-theatre menu, guests can sample dishes such as; Roasted Cornish cod, brown shrimps, chicken & herb sauce, baby leek, broccoli with lemon puree; Macaroni & cheese, Montgomery cheddar, parmesan, roasted Hen of the woods mushrooms and pangritata with avanilla rice pudding, quince jam and vanilla ice cream to finish. The menu is available Monday – Thursday from 6pm-6:30pm and is priced at £26.50 for three courses.

Hai Cenato, Victoria

Just a stone’s throw away from London’s best theatres, Jason Atherton’s Hai Cenato, in the heart of Victoria’s NOVA development, is the perfect place to enjoy a pre-theatre dinner. On the menu, guests can expect to find enticing starters like the Risotto of confit ham hock, mascarpone, chestnut, cavalo nero, and sourdough pizzas such as the San Marzano delux, London mozzarella, gorgonzola, taleggio with shavings of parmigiano. Alternatively, diners can indulge in Hai Cenato’s delicious fresh pasta dishes including Beef shin ragu, pappardelle and Berkswell.

The Pre-theatre menu is available Monday- Sunday from 5:30-6:30pm, priced at 2 courses for £18.50.
