The biggest event in the built environment is back, and it’s making some serious noise.

UK Construction Week London (ExCeL, May 7-9) just dropped its first set of heavyweight speakers, and let’s just say it’s stacking up to be an unmissable event. With over 300 industry leaders ready to discuss sustainability, infrastructure, procurement, and planning, this year’s edition promises to set the agenda for the future of construction.

Among the first names confirmed: Shadow Housing Minister Kevin Hollinrake MP and Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development. They’ll be tackling the big issues shaping London’s skyline and beyond. Expect a packed schedule of debates, networking, and game-changing insights—plus, a brand-new VIP experience to take it all up a notch.

Heavyweight Speakers Taking the Stage

UKCW London is assembling an impressive lineup of policy makers, industry disruptors, and sustainability champions. These are the people who shape the future of cities, buildings, and public spaces.

Joining Hollinrake and Copley, the first round of keynote speakers includes:

Andrew Watkin – Transport and Estates Development Manager, Aston Villa FC

Alan Heron – Director of Procurement, Places for People

David Philp – Chair, CIOS Innovation Panel

Fergus Harradence – Deputy Director, Infrastructure, Construction & Rail, Department for Business & Trade

Amelia Woodley – ESG Board Director, Speedy Hire

Chris Oldham – Senior Policy and Programme Manager, City of London

Connor Storkey – Director of Sustainability, Brookfield Properties

Fiona Henderson – Social Value Lead, MACE

Julie Godefroy – Head of Net Zero, CIBSE

Ron Lang – Construction Transformation Advisor, Infrastructure and Projects Authority & Regional Director, AtkinsRéalis

And that’s just the start. More names are expected to be announced in the run-up to the event.

Big Ideas, Bigger Conversations

UK Construction Week isn’t just about big names—it’s about big conversations, debates, and networking. The event brings together over 18,000 professionals, including architects, developers, contractors, suppliers, and government officials, making it the go-to place for everything shaping the future of the built environment.

“This year sees UKCW celebrate its 10th anniversary, and consistently over the past decade, we’ve attracted some of the biggest names in the industry,” says Neil Gaisford, Divisional Director of Construction. “UK Construction Week is all about conversation, debate, and networking—and our speaker programme is the catalyst at the centre of all of that.”

Expect a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and tech-driven solutions. With the government pushing for greener buildings and more energy-efficient infrastructure, UKCW will be the place to discuss what’s next.

Save the Dates: London in May, Birmingham in September

After the London edition in May, UK Construction Week heads to Birmingham from September 30 to October 2, 2025. But if you want to catch the most cutting-edge trends, product launches, and keynote talks, London is where it all kicks off.

If you’re in the construction industry—or just fascinated by the future of cities—this is the must-attend event of 2025.
