This autumn, the annual design & craft fair MADE London returns to its original and long standing venue: One Marylebone, a grand former church beside Regents Park. Around 120 exhibitors from the UK and abroad will showcase their handmade craft and designs over four floors of this landmark building, in an impressive display that welcomes new and returning designer-makers year on year.
Founded in 2012 by Tutton and Young, MADE London continues to inspire craftspeople and designers to exhibit and audiences to buy handmade pieces. Exhibitors include jewellery makers, textile designers, ceramicists, glass makers, furniture designers and creative practitioners working in specialist mediums. MADE London is the place to discover passionate makers who are driven by a love for what they do, and to find unique gifts or pieces for the home that you won’t find anywhere else.
Taking place towards the end of October, this is an opportune event for early Christmas shopping and an inspiring fair for all interested in craft and design.
Exhibitor Highlights:
Special Occasion Jewellery
A stand-out feature of MADE London is jewellery, with exceptional hand-crafted designs by acclaimed jewellers selling limited edition collections and bespoke pieces for the fair. Part of the slow craft movement, Jade Mellor captures natural beauty through ethically-sourced raw minerals and gemstones, forming small sculptures that glisten on the hand. Ana Verdun introduces her signature colour contrasts in a new set of statement designs, and Design Nation’s Bea Janero will showcase her stunning pieces which use recycled sterling silver, gold and ethically sourced gemstones.
Talking Points
MADE London celebrates specialist craftsmanship with makers who produce authentic and unusual pieces. Jill Desborough’s theatrical rod puppet characters are dressed in elaborate hand embroidery and will definitely intrigue your dinner guests. Bridget Bailey’s variety of earthly creations are delicate and combine millinery, textiles and fly-tying techniques. Visitors looking for a statement lamp, should head to award-winning artist-engineer Blott Works, who also crafts kinetic clocks.
Ceramics
MADE London 2024 has an especially beautiful showcase of tableware and decorative pieces for the home made by leading ceramicists. Exhibitors include acclaimed ceramicist Sue Mundy, who will be selling her purely aesthetic hand-built vessels, and Colombian-born Josefina Isaza, who produces sumptuous tactile pieces which she has developed from many years of training with world-renowned potters. Ceramics that are perfect for the table include Athene Ceramics, Elizabeth Renton, Eva Radulova and Pippi & Me Ceramics.
Textiles
Knitwear, embroidery, handmade clothing, accessories and contemporary weaving are some of the many textile practices presented at MADE London this year. Design Nation Pamela Print, recipient of the Theo Moorman Trust for Weavers Award, brings her new collection of decorative pieces, and Felt Culture Ltd present their vibrant felt handbags in collaboration with female artists.
